A speech by Australia's new Climate Change Minister Penny Wong makes it clear that Australia is on the same side as the US, Canada and Japan at the Bali Climate Change Conference. OK, The US has yet to ratify Kyoto I but Canada, Japan and Australia (now) have. Australia now has a Labor Government, so this isn't about some grand conspiracy of parties from the right. So why is New Zealand siding with the EU instead of our fellow APECers????
Might it be that climate change has become more about domestic politics than a sensible international policy response?
