Those wanting rapid progress from the Bali Climate Change meeting and the negotiations set to follow it should take note of comments reported today from WTO Chief Pascal Lamy. Lamy says that the forthcoming climate change negotiations will be more difficult to conclude than the current WTO Doha Development Agenda negotiations.
Given the difficulties being experienced in the WTO negotiations at present this is indeed a gloomy assessment from Lamy.
