John Key continues to rise in our estimation. Today he is calling for the PM to sack Winston - should Owen Glenn be able to prove his side of the story. We have long been calling for the PM to sack Winston so endorse Key's position. This from Stuff
National leader John Key says Prime Minister Helen Clark should sack Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters if expat billionaire Owen Glenn can prove his story before Parliament's privileges committee today.
New evidence from Mr Glenn threatens to plunge Mr Peters into fresh controversy as a showdown looms over which of them is telling the truth.
Arring at Wellington airport this morning, Mr Glenn said he was "confident" he could support his version of events.
Asked if he was offended at his treatment by Mr Peters and Miss Clark, he replied: "Well, wouldn't you be?"
He told the NZ Herald he would fight back against "everyone having a field day on my reputation", and he likened the attacks to a "like a school yard squabble."
"I would have thought our MPs would behave in a better manner all round. They should be running the country. I think New Zealanders have a right to be better represented."
