Armstrong Analyses The Axis

Yes, the mainstream media have now started using the correct alternate terminology for the Labour First Government - the "axis".

John Armstrong tries to explain the unexplainable - why Clark is sticking with Peters. His conclusion is looking remarkably similar to Hooton's. She wants to cannibalise the NZ First vote. So keeping Peters dangling leaves him vulnerable and unable to campaign effectively. Meanwhile she is seeking to steal Winnies votes.

But Clark is also chasing that vote because the Grey Power constituency is becoming even more vital for her to win when Labour's support is waning elsewhere.
Needing to win over the elderly is part reason why Labour is making "trust" the core element of its campaign.

Killing Winston with kindness? Looking increasingly like it.
