Turning Tide

We meant to comment on this in our blog bits post the other day but forgot. David Farrar posts about Mai Chen attending the National Party drinks. That didn't raise our eyebrows at all. Mai is a professional lobbyist and the lobbyists were all there. Everyone is wanting to get closer to the Nats, so it is the professional thing to do. Mai still devotes plenty of attention to the Labour crowd and the smaller parties also. Under MMP lobbying the opposition and the small parties is often more important than the Government of the day - just look at all the effort underway on the ETS? What did raise one eyebrow a little was seeing Mai's husband at the drinks. Think back three years or so, what was he doing? Writing Michael Cullen's speeches and acting as his minder at significant business gatherings.
