Fiddling As The Ship Goes Down

Richard Long has some advice for the Government on page B4 of the Dominion Post. Long says that it is 1975 all over again. The ship is clearly sinking but Labour continues to try an ram through ill thought out policy.

Long asks what should the PM do short of standing down? he suggests the following:

  • stop claiming that four identical polls are wrong;
  • abandon the Electoral Finance Act for this election and promise a review of the electoral law by all parties next term;
  • delay the emissions trading law to allow full consultation;
  • acknowledge mistakes such as tax cut delay;
  • vow to end nanny state interventions, even when demanded by the Greens.

Good suggestions Richard.
