If the tour is "diplomacy" then why send so many 'has beens' on this trip. Won't this be interpreted as an insult by the host Governments? And if it is solely to 'fly the flag' why do so many need to fly it? Why not the Speaker plus two.
We support overseas travel for our MPs. It is important that they get exposed to what is going on in the wider world. Such expenditure, when on those who are going to be able to apply their learnings to future work in Parliament, is good value for New Zealand. In this instance, the travel is nothing but a rort. Key and Clark should pull their people.
