This is a headline in today's Sunday Star Times.
More of Stalin and Mao we say.
Communism is a form of government which attempts to empower workers and eliminate social class. Its socioeconomic structure promotes the establishment of a classless, stateless society based on common ownership of the means of production.[1]
Has any Government been so committed to the above goals (definition is from Wikipedia) than our current Government. State owned asset sales - including by Local Government seem completely off the agenda, the airline has been nationalised, a new state owned bank has been established, NZ Post is beginning to take over the courier and freight business, railway lines have been nationalised, and now the railways and ferries seem set to go the same way.The growth of Government as a proportion of GDP has been enormous.
Why is no one, including the Opposition screaming?
