We are glad that questions are beginning to be asked about the TVNZ reality TV show - Borderline. At a time when we are suffering such serious skill and people shortages, this programme seems to be determined to reinforce a fortress New Zealand attitude and send all the wrong signals to foreign visitors and migrants. We have been shocked at the way in which some of the Immigration Service staff have behaved on this show. Rude and condescending we say, but John Delamare (no friend of NZIS) calls these "Gestapo tactics".
Now in today's paper we read that in one of the televised brothel rais a client jumped out of an upstairs window and later died! This has gone too far. TVNZ should pull this programme, and Ministers should be asking NZIS senior managers to resign for showing the bad judgement in allowing staff to cooperate in this dreadful exercise.
