Political Party Funding

Bill Ralston writes today about the Peters/Glenn scandal and the impact that it might have on Helen Clark and the Labour Party - points that have been a concern for us. He also comments on the implications for all parties if this scandal causes a new debate to start on the transparency of funding sources. We think that such a debate is inevitable. And we also think new laws are essential. But first we need a full investigation into New Zealand First's funding arrangements and their formal declarations. The results will be very interesting.
