Former PM and Helen Clark's predecessor as Labour leader (and good friend of Phil Goff) has fired another broadside at the Electoral Finance Act. We quote to give some flavour of his comments:
"It was rushed, badly drafted, can't be understood, (is) full of inviting loopholes, amendments were made at the last minute without scrutiny, and it's a blogger's breakfast,"
Moore predicts that the Act will be tested in the courts soon and be found wanting. He predicts that it will not survive in current form until the election.
At The Hive we would not be surprised to see an earlier election than many are anticipating, so there may be no chance to make changes. We see a real chance that the current Government is going to implode. Mike Moore's comments are a further sign of tension building within Labour.
