Would you accept the proceeds of crime or theft?
Well how can you accept this money from Winston Peters. It is not his money to give away. It is taxpayer money, money paid by ordinary New Zealanders including retirees. It should have been paid back to Parliamentary Services from whence it came.
David Farrar reports that Winston is claiming to have made secret donations to 10 charities.
Has anyone put in an OIA request for the list that Winston has supposedly passed to Margaret Wilson? There are no grounds for withholding the contents of the list under the Act.
Update - we forgot that this is impossible. Read Poneke's helpful reminder. But morally, how can The Speaker refuse a request for this information? We hope that National and ACT will insist on its release.
