Does It Matter If The Climate Change Legislation Dies?

Colin James has a look today at the gaming going on around the climate change legislation. Our own view is that the legislation should not die, but be the subject of further work - hopefully bi-partisan work. We note that it was Labour who saw the potential for achieving electoral advantage by making this a partisan issue. That was before the economic downturn and concerns about the cost of living became the major issues in voter minds. If course this legislation will exacerbate concerns in both areas.
