Fran O'Sullivan uses her column in the NZ Herald today to do several things.
She rightly points out that Bollard's gloomier economic prognosis than Cullen's gives National the room it needs to campaign on even bigger tax cuts.
She sees the opportunity for John Key to campaign with a positive vision of an independent New Zealand determined to succeed - similar in tone to the campaign that Obama has been running.
She also subtly suggests to her media colleagues that they learn some more economics - tax cuts don't need to be inflationary.
