Winston's Inquisition

We have been amused all day at Winston Peters' suggestion that he had been put through the equivalent of the Spanish Inquisition. Our own view is that he has been treated far too lightly.

We would like to see the committee adopt a different approach.

Why not take a leaf out of the US book and appoint a special prosecutor. The person would have full powers of investigation and would undertake the primary interrogation of witnesses. Committee members could still ask their questions of course. It would have been wonderful to watch a top notch criminal lawyer conducting the interrogation on Monday night.

That said Russel Norman did do well.
