"The secret tapes were e-mailed to journalist Selwyn Manning of the Scoop political website, and Duncan Garner, TV3's political correspondent."
"Manning says he recognised the name on the e-mail as that of a well known businessman and one he assumed had right wing sympathies."
"Garner did contact the secret taper to determine his identity."
Comment. Not all well known business people have right wing sympathies. Have a look at the Labour donor list, the New Year and Queen's Birthday honours lists, the ABAC representatives, and the Boards of many SOEs etc.
We think we are owed a name now. As we have said all along, the real story is not what was said but who did the recording and why?
