What a mess. The Thompson scandal deepens. SSC had concerns about Thompson's qualifications for 4 years but did nothing? That is bad, but the details emerging about corruption in the immigration service makes us very sad. New Zealand isn't meant to be like this. How can this have been allowed to happen? Major reform is clearly needed. On the qualification front wwe understand that Thompson was in London immediately before being employed by NZIER by Allan Bollard.
