PSA Support Barrie Saunders

Brenda Pilott, National Secretary of the PSA has written a letter to the Dominion Post agreeing with leading political lobyist Barrie Saunders' ideas on restoring faith in the neutrality of the public service. In particular, Pilott calls for changes to the State Sector Act 1988. "The act has fragmented the public service and undermined the ability of state sector chief executives to give free and frank advice to ministers. That's because it moved them from being permanent employees on to 3-5 year contracts."
