Labour Turns Guns On Key

John Armstrong writes in the NZ Herald that Labour is trying to deflect the attacks against it by trying to attack John Key. Jim Anderton accused him of trying to move NZ back to the bad days of agricultural subsidies while Labour (with the support of its union friends) are trying to suggest that Key wants wages to drop. David Farrar is saying today that Key was talking about wages in Australia. Our view is that Key was probably trying to explain the need for productivity growth before big increases in wages but the reported did not understand the point. John Armstrong says that no one can contact the reporter concerned. But Armstrong concludes that

Key's second skin remains intact. Whatever Labour throws at him, nothing seems to stick.

and as for the Labour/Anderton attacks

the prevailing sound is of a barrel being well and truly scraped.
