Australia Showing Leadership On Services

Australia hasn't really been known for strong leadership on global services trade liberalisation. So this strong statement by Trade Minister Simon Crean that Australia could not support a deal in the Doha round to open up world trade without an ambitious result in services, such as banking and telecoms is all the more remarkable. Up until now this type of comment has really been the preserve of the US and the EU. The Hive is deeply encouraged by this statement, but would have preferred that it had been made by Phil Goff.

Is New Zealand going to make a similar statement??
