Different Views On National Labour Party Congress

Thanks to My Sky we were able to watch ONE News, TV3 and Prime News this evening to see how they interpreted the PM's speech today at the Party Congress. Prime saw it as a bit of a non-event and played it well back in the news. The fire alarm and protests were not made much of. It was much bigger news on One and TV3. One thought that Clark recovered well and the Party faithful were happy, but TV3 suggested that Clark's speech was ruined by the fire alarm and by the protests. Much was made of Cullen being jostled. A picture of near chaos and a Party not in control was painted. TV3 were even sarcastic about the contents of the speech suggesting that Clark was forced to borrow campaign slogans from sports shoe brands.
