The Inquiring Mind has an interesting post on a speech given yesterday by Digby Jones. An interesting charachter, Jones was asked by Gordon Brown to join the Government from outside Parliament along with three others, all specialists in their field. They are all junior Ministers. It is a shame we don't have a mechanism which allows this to happen here (the Brits can use the House of Lords). We do hope that John Key thinks strategically when finalising his list. It would be good to see a few more Finlaysons or Grosers on the list this time around.
Adam Smith also notes that Lord Jones suggested that the China FTA will encourage foreign firms to locate in New Zealand.
Has Winston decided whether to support the FTA yet?
