This blog was dedicated to the monitoring of latest developments in Central, Regional and Local politics from its base in New Zealand's capital city, Wellington. The blog was run by a team with unique insights into latest developments. The Hive was not politically aligned, but did support policy that was best for the growth of business and the economy. Given the obvious interest from our readership The Hive from time to time delved into the politics of other countries or regions.

Climate Change Leadership Forum Breaking Apart
The harder line on the emissions trading regime from the Business New Zealand family is getting more obvious. Today they disassociated themselves from the ten points included in a public statement from the Forum. The Hive understands that several members were happy to have the ten points as issues for further discussion within the group, but that no public statement was expected. The ten points were drafted by Government lackey Peter Neilson - surprise surprise - and submitted as a late paper to the last meeting at the Forum. It was not a well attended meeting. The one member we have been able to contact today was not at the final part of the meeting when Neilson's paper was discussed.
