This blog was dedicated to the monitoring of latest developments in Central, Regional and Local politics from its base in New Zealand's capital city, Wellington. The blog was run by a team with unique insights into latest developments. The Hive was not politically aligned, but did support policy that was best for the growth of business and the economy. Given the obvious interest from our readership The Hive from time to time delved into the politics of other countries or regions.

Australian And New Zealand Treasurers to Meet
Fran O'Sullivan looks at the agenda for tomorrow's meeting between Wayne Swan and Michael Cullen. This is an important meeting, with the mutual imputation of franking credit issue, emissions trading, proposals for the portability of superannuation schemes, and the Australian Government's stalled push for an investment protocol to be added to the Closer Economic Relations agreement all due to be discussed. It will be good to see progress on all issues but we do wonder whether Australia will be giving too much away to what it sees as a lame duck administration (with a joke for a Foreign Minister).
