The Hive

This blog was dedicated to the monitoring of latest developments in Central, Regional and Local politics from its base in New Zealand's capital city, Wellington. The blog was run by a team with unique insights into latest developments. The Hive was not politically aligned, but did support policy that was best for the growth of business and the economy. Given the obvious interest from our readership The Hive from time to time delved into the politics of other countries or regions.

Electoral Finance Act 2007

The Hive was established several weeks before the Electoral Finance Act 2007 became law. 185 items had been posted prior to 1 January 2008 on a range of subjects, of which New Zealand politics at national level is but one. The Hive is non-commercial and non-political. We do not support any political party or groups of parties. We are interested in issues and good policy. Bad policy, whether it be Government introducing policy or proposal of policy by parties outside the Government will be given close scrutiny and may be criticised. Likewise good policy, from any political party might attract praise. We are a blog, but because we have multiple contributors we do not seem to qualify as a blog under this poorly drafted legislation. So, in terms of the Electoral Finance Act 2007, The Hive is a news media Internet site that is written by, or selected by or with the authority of, the editor or person responsible for the Internet site solely for the purpose of informing, enlightening, or entertaining our readers. We hope our readers continue to be informed, enlightened, and entertained by our content which is not going to change in any way.
